What is LinkMatch?
LinkMatch is a program, a grant, offered by LinkUp Illinois and Experimental Station that DOUBLES your SNAP dollars.
When you run your SNAP card for $20, you receive $20 in SNAP Tokens AND $20 in LinkMatch Vouchers!
How do I run my SNAP card at the market?
Find Sarah in a seperate booth next to the Freeport Student Garden. There she will run your card on a card reader, you will enter your pin, and she give you your tokens/vouchers!
What denominations do the tokens come in?
SNAP Tokens come in $1 and $5 denominations. If you need to break down a $5 token, you will need to visit Sarah at the SNAP tent. Venders CANNOT give change back on SNAP tokens.
LinkMatch Vouchers come in $1 denominations. Vendors CANNOT give change back.
How does LinkMatch differ from SNAP?
LinkMatch Vouchers can ONLY BE SPENT ON PRODUCE.
While your SNAP tokens can be spent on any food items.
Do I have to spend all my tokens/vouchers on the same day?
No, you can choose to spend them any weekend!
Is there anything I can’t purchase with SNAP/Link?
Yes. Link Vouchers can only be spent on fresh produce.
SNAP Tokens can only be spent on food items or vegetable plant starts. Most food vendors accept SNAP/Link.
